Follow Spots are high powered Profile spot

lights which are moved and focused

during a show by an operator.

Normally used during musicals or pantomime used to high light one person performing

as the principle during a song and dance number for example.

They can also be used to high light a head lining performer or a comedian during a Varity show.

We have a team of operators which we can supply if you require along with various follow spots and communication equipment needed

Follow spots come in 2 main types:

  • long narrow angled beam with high powered     profile spot lights with high powered tungsten halogen bulbs from 1,200 to 2,000 watts which be

  • dimmed by supplying power from either a single dimmer mounted on the lamp side or the theatres

      electrical dimmer systems.

We currently have 1 Strand Cantata 1,200 watt and 2 CCT Silhouette 2000 watts follow spots. These are especially good for short throws or back light follow

spots

We also carry as our main front line equipment one of these Pani 1200 watt HMI followspot.

Not only does to reach a long distance between stage and the the space where the follow spot is situated without being washed out by other bright lights which are closer.

The llight scourse is a 1200 watt HMI  Hydrargyrum medium-arc iodide. THese bulbs do not have a filaments but generate light by an electrical arc. Because of this the light it makes is a more blue/white light which helps makes the beam stand out from the warmer normal beams,

We are happy to train your own operators during the build up to your show but you need to be aware skills come with practice
