Gobo (Projection Effects)
Gobos Metal or glass slides which fit into a Profile spot light. The image of the slide is then project onto the scenery
Gobos can anything you image from a simple break up (which looks like light shining through trees) to castles or even the shows logo.
To add a new dimension there are also machine that will rotate your gobo and therefore the image with speed and direction controlled from the lighting control desk
GOBO stands for Goes Before Optics which is where it fits in the lantern between the lamp and the first optical lens.

In use for Sleeping Beauty. Red Rose gobo used as set dressing for pre-sets and pulses when the beast is transformed back into Prince Charming
Put it all together on the left is the preset for Sleeping Beauty with Tab dressing, Haze and 2 fairy tail castle gobos
