Moving Heads
Moving Heads - Come in three types. Spots, Fills and Beams. As the name suggests they move (pan and tilt) & change colour.
1.Spots also focus to a hard edge and also a number of gobos which roatae and adding a prism will become three images instead of the standard one.
2.Fills work like a standard Fresnel lamp with a soft edge beam. You can also focus theses from a narrow beam to a wide flood
3.Beams provide a very narrow beam and are used for effects and to light the scene
1. Spots (Martin Mac 250 Plus)

THese lamps are good general pirpose units. You can focus them down to a sharp edged beam for specials (one lamp shining on one actor) or with gobo and colour moving around during music numbers. If you defocus them they become area lighting. THey can be used to add colour or fill in dark areas.

Because these are so good they can be used to replace more than one standard lantern or to be used as special moving effects.

2. Moving Fills

Moving Fills

These are more specialised lanterns. They will move and change colour but apart from that they are of limited use. Their main advantage is that if you need to light the stage red for one scene and purple for another then with these lanterns you do not need 2 sets of lights one with red and one with purple coloured filter. This saves time during rigging.

As these lantern move they can be used during your show to help focus on a part of the stage which can move with a slow controlled pan and tilt. it can even be used to point at the audience and used as a blinder if required

Moving Beams

Moving Beams - These lantern are the party animals of the lantern store. They provide no practical light to help the audience see the stage they are there to make thing look pretty. Usually used in numbers they create narrow beams of coloured lights which move in patterns.

Used so many ways the produce some spectacular effects but they will all need to be programmed singly which takes epically when you have 15 movers to program for an effect ontop of the rest of the rig
Because of the complex nature of these fittings we only keep a total of ten moving heads in stock preferring to hire in from one of our partner hire companies which means we are guaranteed to get the latest equipment fully serviced.
